Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA) – Vacancy Notice
The Town of Franklinville is seeking interested residents to fill a vacancy on the Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA).
The ZBA is the board responsible for hearing and deciding variance requests, interpreting the Town’s Zoning Law, and ensuring fair and consistent application of land use regulations. This position is appointed by the Town Board.
Position: Zoning Board of Appeals Member
Term Length: 5-year term (to fill current unexpired term ending 12/31/29)
Eligibility: Must be a resident of the Town of Franklinville
Meeting Schedule: Meets as needed, typically evenings
Training: NYS law recommends 4 hours of annual training
Compensation: Stipend of $25 per meeting

NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING
Please take notice that a Special Meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Franklinville will be held on 10/21/25 at 7 pm at the Franklinville Town Hall, 11 Park Square.
The purpose of this meeting is to review and act on bids received for replacement of the oil furnace at the Highway Barns and to take any related action deemed necessary.

NOTICE OF PRELIMINARY BUDGET FILING AND PUBLIC HEARING
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Preliminary 2026 Town Budget of the Town of Franklinville has been completed and filed in the Office of the Town Clerk, located at 11 Park Square, Franklinville, New York, where it is available for inspection by any interested persons during regular office hours.
Further notice is hereby given that the Town Board of the Town of Franklinville will review said Preliminary Budget and hold a public hearing thereon at the Town Hall, 11 Park Square, Franklinville, N.Y. at 7:01 p.m. on Wednesday, November 12, 2025.
The salaries of the elected Town Officers are as follows:
Supervisor $10,070.00;
Councilman (4) $3,300.00 each;
Justice I $9,896.00;
Justice II $9,180.00;
Town Clerk $30,337.00;

There will be a training/practice conducted at Case Lake on Saturday October 18, 2025 between and 7am and 12pm which will result in limited access for recreational activities. Thank you for your patience.

Ischua Creek
As many of you may have seen reported in the news, a significant fish kill has occurred along several miles of Ischua Creek, prompting concerns within our community. The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) is currently conducting a thorough investigation to determine the potential causes of this incident and its environmental impacts, and they are prepared to take any necessary actions to address the situation. We want to reassure you that we are dedicated to keeping you informed with any new developments as they arise. In the meantime, we advise residents to avoid the affected areas to ensure their safety. We sincerely appreciate your understanding and patience.
Starting May 22, 2025, D&H Excavating is going to start removing overgrown brush on the flood control dike off the north side of Elm Street in Franklinville via excavator/brush head. The equipment will mulch the material.
Another project on the south side of the Elm Street bridge will be commencing in the coming weeks where D&H will be removing built up sediment that has blocked the diversion door from opening. These projects are action items that have been selected from our federal inspector's reports.
Village Roads Elm Street and Chestnut will be milled and paved on Friday 5/9/2025 and Monday 05/12/2025
Case Lake will be milled starting 5/12/2025, (there will be no access in or out of the Case Lake once milling commences)
