Dog Control Officer Job Opening

The Town of Freedom is seeking a qualified individual, 21 years or older to be the Dog Control Officer for the Town of Freedom. The Town Dog Control Officer will have the ability to:
-Understand and apply all town and state laws and regulations pertaining to dog control
-Capture, care, handle and feed dogs in a humane fashion
-Distinguish between various dog breeds for proper identification
-Work alone
-Prepare and maintain written records and reports in a clear, accurate, and grammatically correct manner
-Communicate effectively and compassionately with general public
-Understand and carry out general instructions related to dog control
-Must be able to kennel dogs up to 5 days prior to turning over dogs to SPCA with Cattaraugus County.

Committee Volunteers for Comprehensive Plan

The Freedom Planning Board Chairperson Norman Feldman is looking for anyone in Freedom Township to volunteer on a committee, to help make an updated Town Comprehensive Plan. Anyone interested must be able to work well with others and help bring ideas to develop the Town of Freedom. American Rescue Plan Monies

The Freedom Town Board is looking for ideas from the Town of Freedom residents on how to use the American Rescue Plan Act monies to serve the community. Eligible use of the money, or potential projects, must increase operational cost efficiency in an effort to save the Town money in the future. Please submit written details to the Freedom Town Clerk office, Mindy Holland, PO Box 89, Sandusky, NY 14133. The ideas will be submitted to the committee members of the American Rescue Plan Act. If you have any question please contact the Freedom Town Clerk during business hours, Monday 9:00 am - 1:00 pm, Thursday 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Friday 9:00 am - 1:00 pm, and Saturday 9:00 am - 11:00 am.
