The taxes are being collected by the Allegany County Treasurer's office as they have been appointed Deputy Collector because of the resignation of the town clerk. You may mail the taxes to the town clerk, PO Box 222, Canaseraga, NY 14822 & we will get them to Belmont. The other option is to mail them to Court Street, Belmont, NY 14813
There will be an emergency meeting this evening at 7:00 at the Town Hall for the purpose of voting on a resolution to name Allegany County Treasurer's Office as deputy collector for the Town of Burns for the remainder of 2025.
The monthly regular March board meeting will be held on Wednesday, March 5th. Public hearing to begin at 6:30PM with regular meeting to follow. The public hearing is for the board to consider appointing the town clerk position in the future. A local law will then be adopted.
